North Carolina Chiropractic CE: Eight-Hour Online Course Guide

North Carolina DCs need to distinguish recorded online courses from live-online classes when planning their annual continuing education. These formats are not interchangeable under the board’s renewal guidance.

North Carolina annual chiropractic CE requirements

The North Carolina Board of Chiropractic Examiners states that licensed DCs generally need 18 hours of approved CE each calendar year. Its guidance permits up to 8 hours of recorded online study, with the balance ordinarily obtained through at least 10 hours of classroom study or qualifying live-online activities. Different first-year rules may apply to new licensees.

Why an eight-hour online course matters

Our Professional Applied Kinesiology 101 and Functional Neurology offerings are listed by Northeast College for 8 online CE hours each. An eligible eight-hour recorded course could therefore use the entire annual recorded-online allowance in North Carolina. Do not purchase multiple recorded courses expecting all their hours to count in a single annual cycle.

Verify the exact course in CE Broker

North Carolina’s board directs chiropractors to CE Broker to confirm that a course is approved and correctly classified as online, live-online or in-person. Northeast College’s approval table currently marks NC as PreApproved, but students should independently confirm the individual course listing and delivery category in CE Broker.

Review the official NC renewal FAQ and CE Broker instructions and the DC continuing education requirements.

Before adding courses to your cart

Check the course-by-course state approval table, the current college record for your chosen course and your CE Broker account. Confirm the current renewal year, any previous recorded-online credits already used, and the PAK course prerequisites. If a college-listed course is absent from CE Broker, ask the board or course provider before purchase rather than assuming the approval carries over.
